Magruder was born on New Samarkand in Draconis Combine space, but spent his formative years on the entertainment planet of Solaris VII.

He started outworking for one of the larger Mech stables movingMech's about the warehouse, but dreamed of getting hischance to actually fight in the tournaments. When atournament was announced that the winner of the battlewould win a brand new Mech and the winners stablewould receive a 30 ton package of various Mechsupplies and equipment, he new he had to find a way toenter.

He new the stable he was working for wouldnever give him a chance, so he found an owner who onlyhad one Mech whose pilot had just recently gonemissing. Magruder made a deal with the owner that hewould keep the Mech and the supplies and Magruderwould be given 25% of the value of it.

Unfortunately for Magruder, the Wasp he was givento pilot had a faulty weapons system, and only the SRMs worked properly. This being the case,Magruder had to rely on his piloting skills to see his way through, boxing his way from battle to battle. Through a lot of luck, and a fair amount of skill, Magruder managed to win the tournament. However,instead of turning the Mech over to the stable ownerlike they agreed, he jumped planet and began lookingfor a Mercenary group to hide in.

~GM Edit: Magruder was able to get the medium laser on his Wasp operational when joining Wilson's Fusiliers. Apparently it was just unplugged... ~

As Rowin grew up on Solaris VII, he became engrossed with the gladiatorial games, and how the victorious MechWarriors were lauded as heroes. As he got older, some of the gilt wore off of this glorious lifestyle as he saw one warrior after another killed or bankrupted by either the loss of his Mech or through gambling. None of this stopped Rowin from wanting to be a part of their ranks, he just became more aware that this wasn't a perfect lifestyle. When he was scrambling to find a Mech to pilot in the Great Match, he saw a group of elite Mercenary MechWarriors, and how they were treated, and thought this might be a better life. They received the same respect as the gladiators, but they had more. They weren't just fighting for themselves and profit. They had a greater sense of purpose. To be sure, they were still fighting for profit, but there was a greater purpose to it. These thoughts were filling Rowin's head as beat Mech after Mech to win the tournament.

Seeing those Mercenaries is what inspired him to jump planet with the Mech he had promised to the stable owner and start his career with Wilson's Fusiliers.

Rowin will take the Conversion Kit Perk. I have not decided if I will use it for the Spider yet.
