The Mercenary unit McCarron's Armored Cavalry returned to their home world of Tikonov after a 2 year 'romp' of successfull raids in Federated Suns space. The event, commonly being referred to as 'McCarron's Long March' saw the mercenaries raid the Davion planets of Tawas, Farwell, Smolensk, McHenry, Muskegon, Marlette, Brighton, Mira and Mesartim.

McCarron's Armored Cavalry even survived a running battle with the personal guard of Lord Hanse Davion. The unit returned flush with salvage and honors and the commanders of each McCarron's unit were awarded the Baton of Illustrious Service directly from Chancellor Maximillian Liao.

The Free Worlds Technical Institute was founded on the planet of Atreus. In an atypical free market approach from the League, anyone passing the entrance exam may be admitted to the Institute free of charge. Of course, realistically, very few people without a Noble or Mechwarrior family background could have the education necessary to pass such a technical exam.
