The Dispossessed

A Battlemech defines a Mechwarrior just as a warhorse defined a Knight in Terra’s ancient history. Luckily for the players, Raymond Wilson is generous to his troops. If a player should somehow become dispossessed, consult the following table for the prospects of obtaining a new Battlemech.

The Dispossessed Dispossessed

Modifiers

There are several modifiers that can apply to this roll; depending on skills, past actions, obtained salvage and individual circumstances.
Well-Equipped Advantage: +2
Mech was lost while personally fulfilling a mission objective: +1
Mechwarrior has a generally good reputation in the Unit (GM opinion): +1
Mechwarrior has a generally poor reputation in the Unit (GM opinion): -1
Mechwarrior has been dispossessed before and received a Mech: -1 per replacement Mech
Mechwarrior’s lance has contributed to salvage pool: +1

NOTE: It is most likely in this case that one of those salvaged mechs, if available and of the proper weight class, will be the replacement mech. (e.g. player’s lance has salvaged a Wasp, a Griffin and an Atlas. The roll is 7, +1 for salvage modifie, the player will receive the Griffin as his replacement.

I've been thinking and reading about becoming dispossessed and have decided to change some of the rules that we always played with before in our table-top games.

I see no reason why a Mechwarrior who surrenders would be allowed to keep his Battlemech and return to the enemy. So, as a general rule, if you are captured you will forfeit your Battlemech as part of the ransom to be returned to your Unit. The same applies to your enemies though.

Luckily for you, Colonel Wilson is generous and the likelyhood of you receiving a new Battlemech is pretty good.
