Kai Chambers grew up in a middle-class family on one of the embattled worlds along the Draconis March. He never saw much difference in the treatment his people received from whoever held the planet. Sure when Kurita was in charge people dissappeared in the middle of the night, but the Davion troops also sacrificed the lives of civilians in the name of military expediency. Vowing never to get caught up in the power struggles of the high and mighty, Kai scraped together enough C-Bills to attend the (in)famous Blackjack School of Conflict. He excelled in his studies and graduated with honors (if honor can be applied to any achievements at the BJC).

He tooled around the Inner Sphere for several years, even starting his own Merc company at one point, the 1st Infidel Legionnaires. The Legionnaires disbanded after becoming hopelessly in debt and so Kai ended up consulting for Earthwerks-FWL. He is eager to get a new Mech under him and practice the trade at which he excels.
